Vintage Turquoise Leaf Cuff

Vintage Turquoise Leaf Cuff

ARTIST: Peyote Bird Designs Vintage Collection

ORIGIN: Navajo

SIZE:: 5 1/4” cuff, 7/8” opening, 1” width

DESCRIPTION: This Navajo Cuff is a unique shape and highly collectible. Each of the ten turquoise stones have their own blue hue, creating a vibrant array of color on the wrist. The stamped, carinated shank which has five, oval turquoise cabochons is mounted in high bezels at the top and bottom in the center of the shank.  The high bezels are characteristic of
earlier Navajo works when stones were difficult to get and therefore set with attention to securely holding them.  This was typical of works until the early 1920s, and this piece is probably from about 1920.  The three-lobed form at the ends of the bracelet repeat and
vary the shape of the stones, resembling an almost floral like pattern. Along the ridge of the cuff there is intricate stamp work in traditional Navajo style that gives the piece a detailed final touch. This style of cuff is rare and would be a great addition to any jewelry collection.
